19% hike OK'd for Medigap policies (Detroit Free Press)
Michigan's insurance commissioner has approved a 19% rate increase effective Oct. 1 for about 215,000 seniors who have supplemental Medicare coverage with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. A basic Medigap policy will rise from $29.61 to $35.24 a month and from $89.99 to $107.09 for a more comprehensive plan.
