Blue Cross signs deal to expand Medicaid services
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Independence Blue Cross, which serves southeastern Pennsylvania, announced a partnership Tuesday to expand services to Medicaid recipients nationally through AmeriHealth Mercy Family of Companies based in Pennsylvania.

Detroit A federal judge on Friday set an April 2013 trial date for the landmark lawsuit pitting the U.S. Justice Department and the Michigan Attorney General's office against Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, alleging the insurer's use of certain hospital contracts stifles competition and drives up costs for consumers.
