Blues hit seniors with 9% Medigap increase
More than 200,000 Michigan seniors who buy Medigap insurance from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan will see rates rise 9 percent, while about 8,600 out-of-state residents will see a nearly 75 percent hike, according to an agreement announced Tuesday.

Aetna to buy Brentwood company
A change in state law effective Jan. 1 means Medicare beneficiaries across the state who are under age 65 can now purchase a Medicare supplement, or Medigap, policy.

Blues to up Medigap premiums 9%
Michigan seniors will see a 9% increase in their monthly Medigap premiums with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan effective August 1, according to a settlement announced today.
