Illini cross country teams ready to kick-start season (Daily Illini)
The men's and women's cross country teams kick off their seasons tomorrow, hosting the Illini Challenge at the Illinois Arboretum. The team's respective fringe runners - athletes on the verge of cracking the starting lineup - will use the Challenge to hone their abilities and push to represent the team by season's end.

Members of the Mountain Home Bomber senior boys' cross-country team warm up before their annual Blue-Gold Meet on Thursday. Over 150 junior high and senior high students, alumni and family members ran in the event. Wil Norris ran the fastest time in the 1.5-mile race with a time of 8:32.85.

Leah O Connor had a score to settle Thursday morning at the annual Port Huron High cross country invitational. In the second annual Blue Water Triathlon on Sunday in Port Huron, O Connor lost to Alexandria Vintevoghl of Marine City by 2 seconds.
