On May 21, 2008, President Bush signed into law the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (" GINA " or the " Act "). 1 GINA prohibits employers and group health plans from discriminating on the basis of "genetic information," and strictly limits the collection of such information by employers and group health plans.

U.S. President George W. Bush has signed into law the first civil rights legislation of the new millennium, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA).
