Medicare covers screening mammograms every 12 months (Muskogee Phoenix)
Dear Judy: I retired in August of last year and enrolled in Medicare Part B that Oct. 1. My friend told me that Medicare will not pay for a mammogram after retiring if it isn't done within six months, yet my next yearly exam is due in May, which would be after the six- month requirement. Is this true? I would appreciate any information you can give me.
