Local lawmakers rake in millions in earmarks (North County Times)
While GOP leaders in Congress criticized Democrats last week for failing to rein in "earmarks," local Republican congressmen secured tens of millions of dollars for projects in this year's federal budget, according to a watchdog group's analysis.

A new national survey found that 84 percent of eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries in Oregon have enrolled in the program for 2008, up 5 percent from the previous year to 358,923 members.
