About 43,000 Medicare recipients in southeastern Michigan are eligible, but have not yet enrolled, to receive subsidies to help cover prescription drug costs. Medicare beneficiaries may be eligible for the Low-Income Subsidy through Medicare Part D if: Assets are no more than $24,000 for a couple or $12,000 for a single person, excluding primary residency and car.
