Now's the time to choose Medicare drug plan -- Dec. 7 deadline
Peninsula seniors learn about their choices There's just one week left for the open enrollment period for Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage (Part C) health plans for 2012. These are optional plans, either replacing or supplementing basic Medicare. The deadline to change or sign up for a new plan is Dec. 7.

Earlier Medicare deadline is Wednesday
The deadline for Medicare Part D enrollment is earlier this year than usual. Instead of waiting until the end of the year, seniors have until Wednesday to choose their prescription drug coverage for the next year.
