Delayed Medicare Part D payments are stressing locally-owned, independent pharmacists to the breaking point, according to Sen. Charles E. Schumer, D-N. Y. Standing with a crowd of local pharmacists, Schumer announced legislation Monday that would force Medicare insurers to pay prescription claims more promptly.
