Seniors' Medigap premiums to rise by 9%
Michigan seniors will see a 9% increase in their monthly Medigap premiums with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, effective Aug. 1, according to a settlement with state regulators announced Tuesday. Medigap -- also known as supplemental Medicare -- helps pay for care not covered by basic Medicare. The insurer has more than 200,000 Medigap policyholders.
