Vietnam on Wednesday confirmed bird flu outbreaks among its domestic poultry for the first time in a year. Some 5,500 young ducks and 500 chickens have died in the past two weeks in two southern Mekong Delta provinces, and the test results came in positive for the lethal H5N1 bird flu virus.
